By 7th January 2018, when Pakatan Harapan will hold its convention, they need to establish who their candidate for prime minister is. If they still fail to finalize it, this means that this crucial post remains to be a tussle among them and, of course, Kit Siang’s chances remains wide open.
Hence, PKR has taken the first move to name officially that Dr Mahathir is the candidate but with certain conditions. PKR wants Dr Mahathir to hold the office on a temporary basis and once Anwar is free, Dr Mahathir can wave goodbye.
Should this is how PKR insults Dr Mahathir who agreed but the fact is disagreed to allow him to lead Pakatan Harapan? Is this not clear that Wan Azizah and her PKR leaders and supporters can never regard Dr Mahathir to lead them, yet the grudge remained a raging fire no matter how much drama both had performed?
Indeed, this suggestion is blessed thus agreed by Anwar who demanded a conditional appointment in which Dr Mahathir ought to champion his immediate release and the premiership should only last for six to twelve months only while Wan Azizah maintained her position as the Deputy Prime Minister.
Initially, PKR had initiated to plead for the Yang Dipertuan Agong’s pardon for Anwar’s release but realising that it is capable of raising the perceptions of the people that Anwar is without a doubt guilty of sodomizing and hence it is an unwise move, thereby negating their own claims that Anwar is a political victim of PM Najib Razak.
Lest we forget that initially, Anwar had officially announced from behind bars that he is not interested to stand as a candidate for Pakatan’s Prime Minister. He who knew very well Dr Mahathir’s every intention who is determined to be appointed as the ‘Top Dog’, is, in fact, a way for the latter to sit as the future PH’s Prime Minister.
DAP too seems keen to agree to Dr Mahathir’s demands when Kit Siang and Guan Eng have not shown any signs of discord to Zaid Ibrahim’s announcement that a mutual agreement between Kit Siang and Dr Mahathir to appoint him as the Prime Minister existed. Appropriately, DAP needs to stop this issue from turning it into a public debate, hence, Gobind Singh was instructed to deny it.
Anwar is not an amateur or too dumb in dealing with Dr Mahathir’s and Kit Siang’s plot. Dr Mahathir was his boss who is fully responsible for his removal from UMNO and as his Deputy whereas Kit Siang is just another opportunist to ensure Guan Eng stays powerful. Both these seasoned politicians are as crafty as always.
We are yet to receive Dr Mahathir’s respond as PKR has clearly made their stand to agree but in actual disagreed Dr Mahathir’s candidacy. If this how PKR treated Dr Mahathir, it is the worst humiliation given to him when during his tenure as the Prime Minister under UMNO and Barisan Nasional for 22 years, the conditional appointment has never crossed the minds of any component party but with a consensus.
Good luck to Dr Mahathir and PPBM, the signal is clear that you are not welcome to Pakatan Harapan!
