PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said this when giving his closing speech at the PH Youth Convention at a hotel in Subang Jaya, here yesterday.
“We hope to look into better living standards, reducing the cost of living, affordable housing, education, and sports and recreation,” he said.
Among the promises that PH Youth said it would realise should the opposition coalition win the next general election (GE14) is to ensure that motorcycle licences are issued free of charge, to make available a racing track for racing activities, to ensure the English Premier League can be viewed free on RTM, make available 100 sports and recreational locations where 10 will be water park and extreme sports attractions.
Previously, the PH youth leadership also pledged to make job opportunities and affordable housing a priority in its manifesto for GE14′
These include creating a million semi-skilled and skilled jobs, and a million affordable houses should the opposition coalition win the general election.
PH Youth had also promised to provide a million affordable homes by 2020 and to establish a body to be in charge of providing affordable homes.
The opposition coalition also promised to install a “housing x-change” mechanism to ensure that affordable homes go only to those who need it to curb property speculation, which includes setting a national ceiling price for affordable homes at between RM250,000 and RM300,000, depending on location.
