KUALA LUMPUR: Applications and updates of information for 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) 2018 will commence on Monday until Dec 31.
The finance ministry, in a statement today, said the applications and updates of information could be carried out manually or online via the BR1M official portal at http://ift.tt/PIAy0l.
For manual application, forms can be obtained for free from any Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) branch, LHDN service centres and LHDN offices at Urban Transformation Centres.
“Applicants can also download the application form from the BR1M official portal,” it said.
The ministry said spouses of previous BR1M recipients who have passed away as well as applicants who were not eligible last year, must make fresh applications for BR1M 2018.
For existing recipients, updating of information should be done if there are changes to personal information or at least once every three years.
The ministry also confirmed the government has not issued any statement on BR1M via WhatsApp and social media.
“Official information can only be obtained via BR1M 2018 pamphlets distributed to all BR1M recipients and via its official portal at http://ift.tt/PIAy0l.
“The government hopes payments of BR1M 2018 would help lighten the people’s cost of living,” the ministry said.

Prime Minister Najib Razak, when tabling Budget 2018, announced BR1M would be continued next year with the same maximum rate of RM1,200.
