Magistrate Mohd Khairul Hafizuddin Ramli gave the order at the magistrate's court here today.
The suspect was arrested by the police yesterday at 3pm following a report made by Ashraf Abdullah, 35, on Monday (Jan 11) after his three-month-old baby fell into a coma after being cared for by the centre.
It was reported yesterday that he had received a phone call from the daycare centre's staff on Monday, insisting that he pick up his child as the baby had a fever and was acting up.
Finding his baby in weak condition, with bruises and marks on the head, Ashraf brought the child to a private medical centre.
The baby was then transferred to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Star where a CT scan later revealed that there was bleeding in his brain.
It is learnt that the father had only started sending his son to the centre on Jan 3.
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect.
