The Sabah chief minister says assistance will be provided in terms of training, skills development as well as equipment to help the youths kickstart their own entrepreneurship.
KOTA KINABALU: The government will continue to emphasise on youth development and the necessary assistance will be provided, said Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman.
He said assistance would be provided in terms of training, skills development as well as equipment to help the youth kickstart their own entrepreneurship.
Such efforts are intensively being offered through the rural and regional development ministry and Giatmara, among others, he said.
Musa said this during the presentation of assistance under the ministry’s mobilepreneur programme for 155 youths from all over Sabah at a ceremony in the state’s east coast Sandakan district today.
“The mobilepreneur assistance will help the youths, especially those in rural areas, increase their source of income,” he said.
The chief minister also expressed his appreciation to federal Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yakob for assisting the younger generation in Sabah to succeed.
Musa hoped the recipients would take the assistance as a motivation to work harder and not give up too easily.
The youths received motorcycles, equipment and training services based on the various fields they were involved in, including in automotives, hairstyling, welding and photography.
Also present during the ceremony were the ministry’s secretary-general Borhan Dollah, Giatmara Malaysia chief executive officer Jamal Nasir Othman, Libaran Umno deputy chief Juslie Ajirol and Libaran Umno vice-chief Zakaria Edris.
