"Dhobi Gang" Crippled, 14 Cases Of Robbing Laundry Shops Solved

 Police detained four people, believed to be members of the "Dhobi Gang", early this morning, and believed they have solved 14 cases of laundry shop thefts in the district.

Johor Baharu Utara (JBU) District Police chief ACP Mohd Taib Ahmad said the suspects, aged 23 to 35 years, were arrested in a house in Kampung Usaha Jaya, Tampoi, near here, at 12.15 am this morning.

"From our investigation, the Dhoby Gang is suspected to be involved in 14 cases of break ins and theft of money from machines in laundry shops in the JBU area since last year," he said when contacted today.

In the raid, police also found a motorcycle which was believed to be stolen, some drugs, motorcycle stealing and housebreaking tools, eight cellphones and two knives in the raid.

"Nevertheless, we are still hunting down out those gang members who are believed to be still at large," he added.
