Amid questions about his whereabouts, former Sabah CM says through his lawyer that MACC is welcome to search his residence.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Musa Aman has pledged full cooperation with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission which reportedly intends to search his house.
“Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman says he will give his full cooperation to the MACC. Tan Sri Musa says the MACC is welcome to search his residence,” said a statement issued by his lawyer Zahir Shah today.
On Wednesday, Zahir said that MACC officers had gone to Musa’s residence in Luyang but could not enter despite having the keys to the premises because there was no one present to accompany them.
Zahir denied a news report that MACC had seized files from the house.
While it is not clear why MACC wanted to investigate Musa, the New Straits Times reported that the operation was believed to be connected to an investigation into Jeffrey Kitingan, president of Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star), who won the Tambunan state seat in the recent general election.
Kitingan and Bingkor assemblyman Robert Tawik had pledged to cooperate with Sabah BN, giving the coalition a majority to form the state government. Kitingan was appointed deputy chief minister after Musa was sworn in as chief minister the day after the polls.
However, Parti Warisan Sabah president Shafie Apdal obtained the support of 35 state assemblymen, more than enough to form the state government, following the defections of six BN assembly members to the Warisan-Pakatan Harapan alliance. He was later sworn in as chief minister, replacing Musa.
Earlier this week MACC conducted raids at the homes and offices of Kitingan and Tawik and recorded statements from Kitingan and his party officials.
Kitingan expressed dissatisfaction at the raids, alleging that MACC acted based on a Facebook posting which accused him and Tawik of having accepted RM20 million each to support BN.
Musa is also being sought by the police after a police report was lodged against him by Sabah Governor Juhar Mahiruddin for alleged criminal intimidation.
Sabah police chief Ramli Din has confirmed that Musa was currently not in Sabah and was last seen in Kuala Lumpur for a meeting with Umno leaders.
