One More Dengue Death Reported In Terengganu

A total of 99 dengue cases have been reported in Terengganu since Jan 1 until Friday, an increase of 253.6 percent compared with only 28 dengue cases for the same period last year. KUALA TERENGGANU: Another dengue death was reported in Terengganu making it two deaths from the disease within the first nine days of the year.

State Health Department director, Dr Mohamad Omar said the second victim also came from the same locality where a dengue death was recorded earlier, namely Kampung Panji Alam located two kilometres from Kuala Terengganu city centre.

"The victim, a 49-year-old woman, died in the normal ward of Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital at 10.20am today. She was admitted on Thursday and was recovering after treatment, but the victim was found dead this morning due to dengue shock," he told Bernama here Saturday.

On Saturday, a 65-year-old man died of the disease, becoming the first dengue victim in the state this year.
