It was such a bitter mortification for Dr Mahathir to witness right before his own eyes when DS Najib is given an unwavering support from the cries of loyalty from all walks of UMNO leaders during the recent assembly. This is a living proof and will remain in our political history that for once Dr Mahathir is defeated awfully.
UMNO has the largest members of all political parties and the internal conflict clash between Muhyiddin’s and Najib’s, have successfully been resolved. Hence, a clear message to Dr Mahathir is that he has failed in his propaganda to demonise DS Najib Razak, in fact, UMNO unity has been further strengthened that UMNO leaders and members have even pledged to go against him till the end.
From its youngest wing, Puteri and the brotherhood in Pemuda, as well as the formidable ladies in the Wanita wing, they have realised and understood well that when Najib Razak is severely attacked, the party’s adversaries are attempting to undermine the institution of the President of UMNO itself, in which eventually, UMNO would sink.
As propagated by Umno Youth chief Khairy with his band of comrades, as much as Dr Mahathir’s contributions for UMNO should not be forgotten, his betrayal to UMNO members shall not be compromised and ought to be opposed inexhaustibly. It is thus now, Dr Mahathir is the enemy not only to UMNO but to the
Malays and Islam.
All of his scoffings and criticisms towards UMNO leadership and members are still tolerable but when Dr Mahathir chooses to conspire with DAP, it is something that needs to be said with crystal clarity. Perhaps in a way, Dr Mahathir wishes to insult UMNO members but in reality, Dr Mahathir has lost his fight against the strongest Malay and Muslim political party that even PAS has rejected him and his new party. Therefore, what is left for him except to turn to his archenemy Kit Siang’s support.
The trio Dr Mahathir, Muhyiddin and Mukhriz betrayal are expressed by Umno vice-president Datuk Hishammuddin Hussein in his poem recital titled ‘Korban Hang Jebat’ by Zurina Hassan. Symbolically in this poem excerpt illustrates that Hang Tuah’s best friend among his good friends, Hang Jebat’s death was a responsible ‘choice’.
A choice was taken by Hang Tuah to end his best friend’s determined act of usurpation and not an issue of blind loyalty to the Sultan. To kill Jebat is to end rebellions and save the kingdom and innocent people. That was what UMNO went through last year, to choose between brotherhood for a much bigger picture of party and national sovereignty and stability.
Apparent, UMNO members discretion are tested and proven when they have demonstrated to reject Dr Mahathir’s exposed alter ego. How could someone such as Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin who are known to be ultra-Malays and claimed to be championing Malay rights and Islam sovereignty, yet conspiring with a strange bedfellow from a chauvinist Chinese party who has no tolerance for other races except the Chinese?
This is what Datuk Hishamuddin regarded Dr Mahathir’s move as … ‘Cakap tak serupa bikin and bikin tak serupa cakap’, a clear indication of a flip-flop politician who will stop at nothing in grasping rapacity for power.
After the mortification of losing total support from UMNO members, Dr Mahathir took his stand to appear in DAP’s recent National Convention. PAS who has stood firm to distance any collaboration with either DAP or PAN, therefore Dr Mahathir has lost to 2 largest Malay groups and DAP will be his only hope. Out of mercy and self-immolation, perhaps DAP would consider to reward Dr Mahathir’s new party for at least two or three seats in the next general election.
Neither Dr Mahathir and his team nor members of UMNO, there is no more remorse and weeping, for everyone has stated their choices. In fact, the trio’s actions are a blessing to UMNO and now after their absence, this leading ruling party UMNO is becoming calmer, strongly united and more focused to face the next general election.
More importantly, all UMNO members have resolute unanimously to treat and regard Dr Mahathir and his team as their political adversaries that in facing them for the coming general election, no more mercy and kindness are indispensable any longer.
