BN AND PM NAJIB ARE NOW IN A STRONGER POSITION FOR RE-ELECTION

Share This:

The ruling party Barisan Nasional and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has obvious advantages in facing the upcoming GE14. That is as claimed by two renowned political analysts namely Assoc Prof Dr Jeniri Amir from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Prof Dr Sivamurugan Pandian from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

The internal upheavals between Pakatan Harapan component parties can no longer be concealed too and tussle for seats is the main issue. The squabbles in the opposition bloc have prolonged for more than a year and now it is brewing in Pakatan Harapan that eventually leads to an open war of words.

Compared to a more united coalition against BN in the last two general elections, the opposition today is seen to be more fragile as PAS now stands solo. It is inevitable that there will be no straight fight in most constituencies particularly in the Malay-majority areas in Peninsular Malaysia.

All of the above factors have been agreed upon by both the political analysts and indeed, voters sentiment will give the advantage to Barisan Nasional.

It is without a doubt that voters and the rakyat are witnessing and appreciate the ruling party Barisan Nasional’s serious commitments to resolve their needs and problems such as housing, the economy, cost of living and job opportunities.

Further to that, both are convinced that Barisan Nasional has a good chance to regain the two-thirds majority with a more than two-cornered contest and the re-delineation bill that will be passed in Parliament next month.

In fact, the Merdeka Center has duly agreed to the winning factors to regain the two-thirds majority and they have also pointed out that BN is only short of 13 parliamentary seats.

To these political analysists, PM Najib has taken a bold and yet the right move to drop UMNO Deputy President and Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the party vice-president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal from the ministerial cabinet. Hence, PM Najib has established himself since then and based on unwavering support from within UMNO.

All of them agreed that it will be too impossible to win the general election in Malaysia without a win in Sabah and Sarawak as well as the rural seats. For that, Barisan Nasional and PM Najib have every advantage as he has clearly upheld his concerns for their welfare and well-being.

Simultaneously, both see that this time around, voters are choosing between a dynamic, far-sighted and committed leader to a 93-year old former Prime Minister who is only given a year or two to lead the nation.

They even left a deep-thought question to the voters, if they would prefer to return to the Mahathirism era or move forward with PM Najib who could bring the nation and the rakyat to a better height?

To bring Malaysia forward, voters must choose wisely as its importance is high and this is not a game or experimental. There is no point in regretting later as to what will happen later. For that, take a look at Brexit (Britain) case and American voters against Donald Trump.
