MALACCA: The self-acclaimed “Raja Bomoh” who performed a beach ritual to “protect” Malaysia from North Korean attacks will soon have a date with the police.

Ibrahim Mat Zin, the so-called ‘Clairvoyant Shaman King of the World’ will give a statement pertaining to the ritual in which he used a bamboo cannon to “thwart” other foreign threats or attacks on the country.

“Enough is enough. Do not do silly things. His actions are clearly embarrassing the Malays. I have asked him to stop and use the Quran and Sunnah as guidance.

“Is there a necessity to ‘shoot’ using a bamboo cannon? This is polytheism. It is not in our culture,” said the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar.

He said the police had received several reports of ritual acts being performed by the individual who hailed from Teluk Intan, Perak.

He said the investigation against Ibrahim would be conducted in accordance with Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC).

“We can call anyone to facilitate investigations under the CPC when the report is received from the public,” he told reporters after launching the ‘Kembara Sang Saka Biru’ programme in conjunction with the 210th Police Day celebrations on March 25 here today.

Khalid called on Ibrahim to cease performing rituals as his actions could cause confusion among the people, especially when it involved polytheistic practices.

On March 17, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki reminded the people not to spread news of Ibrahim’s rituals on social media as it would indirectly promote the individual concerned.

Recently, videos and image recordings of various activities of the “Raja Bomoh”, who is also founder of the Seni Silat Gayung Ghaib Association of Malaysia went viral on social media.

His actions stemmed from the political tensions between Malaysia and North Korea following the assassination of Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia 2) on Feb 13.
